Engaged contemporary artist Ellen Semen was born in Hamburg, educated and educated in Stuttgart. Her earliest childhood lived in Croatia, in Lovran. She is aware of the problems in the society in which she lives and creates. She analises a social problems and setts up a discourse between the functioning of the social community about one hundred years ago and up today.
Ellen Semen was born in 1971 in Hamburg, Germany. From 1993 to 2001 she studied at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart. From 1993 to 1999 she studied painting by Professor Peter Chevalier. From 1999 to 2001 she studied Art and Intermediate Design by Professor Sotorius Michou. In 1999 she received special prise from Academy of Fine Arts – the Kunstakademie Stuttgart for painting and scholarships for Marseille, Deutsch-Französisches-Jugendwerk. In 1998 she received a scholarship for Moscow, Künstlerwege e.V. She lives and works in Vienna, Austria and in Vrsar, Croatia.
